Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International scientists with an MD, DO, or PhD for research related to psoriasis. The fellowship will take place in Maryland. The goal of the fellowship is that physicians will develop clinical and research programs which will result in better treatments, better health outcomes, and ultimately a cure for patients living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
There is a recognized need for well-trained translational scientists and a collaborative effort to train them. Furthermore, as psoriasis is being increasingly recognized as a systemic disease with multiple comorbidities, investigators with expertise in multidisciplinary translational research are needed to better understand pathophysiology and mechanisms of the disease.
The goal of this fellowship is to train the next generation of clinical and translational scientists who will focus on research and patient care in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Ultimately, physicians completing this fellowship program will be poised to develop their own psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis research and clinical programs which will result in better treatments, better health outcomes, and ultimately a cure for patients living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Fellows accepted into the program will conduct the entire duration of this fellowship at the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.
