Grant of up to $3,000 to a USA, Canada, or International early-career psychologist affiliated with a nonprofit institution or government agency for trauma-related research projects. Funding is intended to support innovative studies that aim to relieve trauma. Proposals will be evaluated on originality, innovation, potential impact, and contribution to the field of trauma.

Grant to a USA, Canada, or International early-career psychologist or graduate student affiliated with a nonprofit institution or government entity for psychology research projects related to trauma. The purpose of funding is to support research projects focusing on the prevention, treatment, and understanding of the consequences of exposure to traumatic events such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and/or rape.

Cooperative agreements to USA, Canada, and International government agencies, IHEs, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and small businesses for research related to neuromuscular and neurological conditions and disorders. Required registrations may take several weeks to complete.

Residencies to USA, Canada, and International artists, writers, and performance artists to create new artwork. This program is open to artists working in any medium. Residents will receive a $5,000 stipend and housing as well as the opportunity to be inspired by the beauty, science, history, and heritage of the Haleakalā National Park in Maui, Hawaii.

Fellowship to a Canadian physician for research related to ALS. Funding is intended to help a neurologist, physiatrist, or other qualified individual hone their skills to become a specialist in the field. The goal of the program is to increase understanding of the disease, develop new treatments, and improve the quality of life for individuals suffering from ALS.

Grant to a USA, Canada, or International graduate student or early-career psychologist affiliated with a qualifying institution or government agency to conduct research studies in the field of trauma. Funding is intended to support innovative projects that focus on the understanding, prevention, and treatment of the consequences of exposure to traumatic events such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and rape.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International investigators to improve the detection of disease by enhancing imaging technology with the use of Artificial Intelligence. Funding is open to medical residents, private medical practitioners, and individuals outside of radiology. This funding opportunity will support research that focuses on AI-driven screening algorithms to enhance the early detection of life-altering diseases, either on patient screening exams or as incidental findings on imaging performed for other reasons.

Fellowships to USA and Canada PhD students to support workforce development activities. The program provides mentorship and support to graduate students looking to pursue a career in the fields of agriculture and the life sciences. Eligible applicants have defined research projects and committed match sponsors.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International women entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs of color to participate in a business accelerator program. Successful applicants will receive a cash investment and participate in a twelve-week in-person individualized mentorship program. The program includes pitching and networking opportunities with industry investors and experts, as well as perks and deals from well-known vendors. Companies must relocate to Birmingham, Alabama for the duration of the program.

Fellowships to Canada BIPOC undergraduate and medical school students to pursue kidney research. The purpose of the program is to combat inequities in kidney disease education. Participating principal investigators will be required to complete sensitivity instruction if they have not already done so. Areas of focus include targeted initiatives to support training for Black and Indigenous scholars, and how to work with racialized groups disproportionately affected by kidney disease.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International IHEs, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and agencies for small research projects related to cancer. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended for small research projects on cancer that can be carried out in a short period of time with limited resources.

Internships of up to $5,000 to USA and Canada university and medical students to participate in a mentored pediatric oncology research project during the summer. Eligible applicants are interested in pursuing a career in pediatric oncology research. A portion of funding is reserved for individuals who are from a racial and/or ethnic group that is underrepresented in the scientific workforce as defined by the NSF and NIH. The program is intended for undergraduates, graduate students pursuing a master's degree, and medical students.

Awards to Canada authors to acknowledge outstanding contributions to the field of literature. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner and finalists. Nominations are invited for collections of fictional short stories or novels that have been recently published. A prize will be awarded to the novel or short story collection published between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025 that, in the opinion of the jurors, is the year’s best book of fiction. There are three rounds of deadlines, which are dependent on the date of publication.

Awards to Canada authors to recognize excellence in creating nonfiction works of literature. Nominations are invited for newly published pieces that provide readers with unique and informed perspectives. Eligible forms of literature include biographies, works of history, essays, political and social commentaries, memoirs, and journalistic essays.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International educators and administrators to participate in a training program in virtual communication. Successful applicants will join a small group of international participants in a six-week training program related to virtual exchange. Eligible applicants are fluent in English and are education and exchange leaders who work at the K-12 or higher education levels, and/or serve youth across multiple age levels (the Stevens Initiative defines youth as populations under 35).

Grants to Canada local, regional, municipal, and Indigenous governments and nonprofit organizations for projects to encourage alternate modes of transportation. Funding is intended for capital projects that support moving away from vehicle transportation and engaging more in human-powered activity.

Grants to Canada eligible IHEs partnering with local organizations for scientific and humanities research to address community needs. Funding is intended to support collaborative projects that promote the development of new ideas in areas such as education, training, community development, the integration of vulnerable populations, climate change, environmental degradation, and health and well-being. Funded projects will address challenges in community innovation, and may be multidisciplinary, falling under the domains of the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and/or health sciences.

Award of $50,000 to a Canada physician or scientist in recognition of extraordinary contributions to the field of cancer research and treatment. The award is intended for a Canadian citizen with an academic appointment who has made a transformational, internationally recognized contribution to the fight against cancer. Emphasis is placed on researchers whose achievements span the spectrum of health research, from the laboratory to clinical care, to health systems and public policy.

Grants to Canada music artists, independent record labels, and artist managers for marketing and promotional activities. Funding is intended to help emerging and promising music artists launch their professional careers. The goal of the program is to directly impact artists, support their marketing and touring initiatives in Canada and abroad, and invest in BIPOC artists.

Fellowships of $4,000 to USA, Canada, and Mexico undergraduate and graduate students, medical residents, and medical students for research related to lupus. Funding is intended to support clinical, behavioral, translational, epidemiological, and basic research projects conducted at medical, academic, or research institutions. The research must be supervised and sponsored under the mentorship of an established lupus investigator. The goal of the program is to foster an interest in lupus research among young scientists.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit music presenting and performing organizations for musical performances and operational support. New applicants are required to create an account prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended for organizations that have demonstrated a substantial commitment to contemporary concert music.

Awards of $50,000 to Canada scientists and physicians to recognize outstanding work to treat, cure, or ameliorate brain or heart conditions. The awards are intended for Canadian citizens who have made exceptional contributions to their fields. This award is issued with the expectation that the recipients will continue to make contributions to the field since this is not a lifetime achievement award.

Grants to USA and Canada medical researchers for professional development opportunities related to the field of lupus studies. Funding is intended for travel expenses, salaries and benefits, manuscript submission, equipment and supplies, and technical personnel. The purpose of the program is to advance the work and careers of rheumatology, nephrology, and dermatology fellows and clinicians in basic, clinical, translational, behavioral, or epidemiological lupus research.

Grant of up to $75,000 to a Canada researcher affiliated with an eligible institution for research studies related to lupus. Funding is intended to support new start-up projects and ideas that will improve the lives of people with lupus and their families or significantly advance the field. Eligible projects will focus on discoid or systematic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Grants to Canada nonprofit organizations to increase market competitiveness in the music sector. First-time applicants must contact program staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to help music producers and promoters strengthen their industry and make a lasting contribution to the local musical experience through a diverse range of compelling Canadian voices. The goal of the program is to enable national service organizations to compete in domestic and international markets.

Grants of up to $45,000 to USA and Canada researchers affiliated with academic institutions in eligible medical fields for new research projects related to pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus. Funding is intended to support start-up projects that will advance the field significantly or improve the quality of life of children living with lupus and their families. Requests will be accepted from pediatric or adult rheumatology, nephrology, and dermatology investigators with academic appointments at a US or Canadian Institution.

Grants of up to $25,000 to Canada musicians and record labels to support new recordings. Applicants must create online profiles prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended for a range of expenses, including but not limited to marketing, video, sound recording, and performance support.

Grants and in-kind donations to Canada registered charities, nonprofit organizations, and schools for green space projects that benefit the community. Funding is intended for the expansion or establishment of gardens and green spaces. The purpose of this program is to help youth and communities enjoy the benefits of gardening; such as encouraging healthy eating habits while learning how to grow your own food and the health benefits that come from being outdoors and interacting with nature and other members of the community.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International investigators for research projects that are focused on promoting conflict resolution and long-term peace. Priority will be placed on projects that investigate how the conditions of peace can be furthered as well as how the causes of war and other forms of violence can be addressed, including their effects on people and society.

Grants to USA and Canada partnerships between funders, communities, and government leadership to create prosperous, sustainable, and just communities. Funding may be used for personnel costs and project-related expenses. This grant is designed to enhance local capacity to build equitable and sustainable communities in the United States and Canada through trust-based grantmaking that supports equitable collaborative partnerships.

Grants to Canada registered charities, schools, libraries, community organizations, and amateur athletic associations for programs to benefit children and youth. Eligible organizations align with one of the following areas of interest: community, education, and health. Funding is intended for capacity building, projects that benefit children and youth up to the age of 21, and programs addressing reconciliation.

Fellowships to USA and Canada entrepreneurs to develop ideas for innovative, high-impact environmental or social ventures. The purpose of the fellowship is to build character and resilience in participants and to provide them with technical assistance from dedicated professional mentors.

Grants of up to $2,000 to Alberta individuals and groups collaborating with a charity, school, or municipality for youth-led projects that will positively affect residents in eligible regions. Funding is intended for projects that are developed, led, and organized by individuals or groups of young people under the age of 25. Eligible projects must benefit residents of Southwestern Alberta.

Award to a USA, Canada, or International individual to recognize an original breakthrough or discovery in the field of cancer research. Candidates for this award have furthered cancer prevention, treatments, and early diagnosis. The discovery must have had a significant impact on the cancer field and made a direct impact on saving lives.

Grants to Canada eligible schools and nonprofit organizations, school boards, and First Nations education authorities partnering with schools for programs that encourage literacy in Kindergarten and elementary classrooms. Grant funds may be used for special projects and events as well as for the purchase of new books at a discounted price. This program is geared towards schools in neighborhoods with demonstrated financial need. Eligible applicants receive a majority of their funding from the provincial or federal government.

Award of up to $5,000 to a USA, Canada, or International undergraduate activist in recognition of exceptional activities that promote the preservation of freshwater and marine resources. Eligible nominees have championed their cause and garnered peer support throughout the school year. In addition to the monetary prize, the winner will also receive mentorship from MCN and be partners for the academic year.

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA, Canada, and International researchers for wildlife and plant protection initiatives. Priority will be given to species facing a high risk of extinction, especially endangered and critically endangered species, as well as species with limited information available. Priority will be given to projects that support the professional development of young conservationists.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International undergraduate and master's degree students for Holocaust-related research projects utilizing digital technology. Selected fellows will conduct studies at the funding source institution supervised by a mentor and will participate in seminars and workshops exploring issues relevant to Holocaust scholarship. Individuals pursuing coursework in the use of digital technology for research and teaching in all academic disciplines are eligible. Fellows must be in residence for nine months during the Fellowship period.

In-kind donations of solar lights and power banks to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals to benefit underserved populations. The purpose of the program is to improve the lives of people living without electricity by bringing them light and power-generation products.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International art students and emerging artists to pursue career development and training opportunities. Funding is intended for individuals specializing in the areas of printmaking, sculpture, drawing, and painting. Eligible uses of funds include travel, living expenses, tuition, and art supplies. Artists must be working in the figurative or representational tradition.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International journalists and newsrooms to recognize outstanding work in data journalism. Entries may include but are not limited to the following topics: climate change or international conflicts. Awardees will receive a monetary prize, a certificate, and speaking opportunities.

Grants to Canada land trusts for large-scale conservation efforts. Funding is intended for the acquisition and preservation of designated protected inland water and terrestrial areas as well as specific geographic areas. Projects with higher hectares may be considered more favorably.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International environmental educators for youth research projects in the environmental sciences. Funding is intended to support projects involving K-12 students in both formal and informal education settings, such as parks and nature centers. Funds may be used for equipment, supplies, scientific instruments, and tools that facilitate environmental research and data collection by youth.

Grants of up to $15,000 and grants of up to $25,000 to Alberta nonprofit arts organizations and Indigenous arts entities in eligible regions for capacity development projects. Interested applicants are required to meet with program staff to discuss their eligibility for funding. Organizations may choose to apply for either the exploration or implementation phase of the project. Eligible applicants are located in Calgary and the Treaty 7 region.

Grants to Canada registered charities to improve healthcare for marginalized populations. The purpose of funding is to improve the quality of life for these populations, improve access to healthcare, and promote equality in healthcare services throughout the country. Preference will be given to projects that support Ontario communities.

Opportunity for Canada youth to participate in a contest to devise original solutions to national and universal concerns. Eligible submissions will align with one of the following theme areas: health and wellbeing, climate change and environment, technology and entrepreneurship, equity and inclusion, and community and civic engagement. The contest is open to youth between the ages of 14 and 18. Projects can be entrepreneurial, scientific, social, or community innovations.

Eligible organizations align with one of the following areas of interest: the environment, health and wellbeing, homelessness, education, and employability. The DWF Foundation focuses on providing grants and support to charities in locations where DWF operates: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Qatar, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Award of $10,000 to a USA, Canada, or International scientist to recognize their significant contributions to the field of intelligence or creativity. The award recipient will be required to attend an award ceremony and may be asked to give a presentation. Eligible scientific contributions must be documented in a major peer-reviewed scientific journal.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for developmental and instructional projects in engineering education. Funding is intended for programs that bring more women into the engineering profession, or programs that improve the communication skills of undergraduate engineering students.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International organizations, institutions, and individuals to recognize outstanding research, achievements, innovations, and engagement within the health field. The purpose of the award is to honor recipients who have devoted their time to improving global health, be it through scientific, societal, technological, political, or economic innovations, and by applying concepts of social, educational, behavioral, environmental, economic, commercial, and/or policymaking-related determinants of health.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International doctoral and master's students to conduct research related to animal cruelty. Funded research must incorporate data collected from the FBI's data collection system on animal cruelty. Funding is intended to encourage analysis of the data to inform policymakers, law enforcement, researchers, and advocates so that more effective interventions can be designed to better protect both animals and the communities in which they live.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International early-career investigators for studies related to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Funding is intended to further understanding of OCD and related disorders, prevent their occurrence, and improve treatments and therapies. Eligible topics for consideration include pediatric OCD, hoarding disorder, and genetic contributors.

Grants to Alberta nonprofit organizations, businesses, art societies and collectives, and community groups to support public events in eligible regions. Funding may be requested for core staging costs for single-day and multi-day events. Successful applicants will receive a funding agreement that includes a combination of financial support, promotional assistance, and event infrastructure based on the needs of the application and the availability of the EDBA resources. Events must take place in Downtown Edmonton, within the DBA’s borders.

Award of $10,000 to a USA, Canada, or International librarian to recognize extraordinary character in the face of a difficult situation. Nominees should demonstrate that they have dealt with challenges with honor and grace. In addition to a generous cash prize, the awardee will receive a certificate and a symbolic object from Lemony Snicket. The purpose of the award program is to remind readers everywhere of the joyous importance of librarians and the trouble that is all too frequently unleashed upon them.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and institutions for educational activities related to the Holocaust. Funding is intended for projects regarding the persecution of Jews by the Nazis. Eligible projects align with one of the following areas of interest: documentation, education, research, new media, and film.

Grants or in-kind support of up to $10,000 to USA and Canada nonprofit organizations and government agencies to ensure the future of all-terrain vehicle off-road riding. Funding is available to organizations working to preserve trail access, protect the environment, and promote safe and responsible riding. Organizations can apply for either monetary grants or products.

Grants to Canada registered charities for programs that benefit residents throughout the country. Focus areas include health, education, religion, culture, assistance to disadvantaged seniors and individuals with special needs, and volunteer engagement. Funding is intended to support efforts that improve the circumstances of individuals, institutions, and communities. Priority will be given to both short-term innovative projects and important charitable causes.

Grants of up to $55,000 to Alberta individual directors, producers, writers, and start-ups for screenwriting projects. First-time applicants must register prior to applying. Funding is intended to assist with costs related to the development of new professional-quality, commercial production-ready projects and scripts that are at least 30 minutes in broadcast length.

Grants to USA, Canada, and Mexico individuals to pursue musical studies related to the carillon. Eligible individuals may pursue one of the following areas of focus: instrument design, music history, composition, and performance. The purpose of the fund is to promote the growth and vitality of the North American carillon culture.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and Germany journalists for expenses associated with participation in an exchange program. Certain applicants must provide a letter of commitment from media outlets to publish their articles. The goal of the program is to increase awareness and knowledge of Germany and North America and to promote closer and lasting personal contacts with professional counterparts from the fellows' host countries.

Grants of up to $2,000 to USA and Canada schools and public libraries to develop gaming collections and programs for their local communities. Eligible libraries will demonstrate financial need, institutional support, and a sustainable plan for maintaining the program. Priority will be given to applicants who can demonstrate a fiscal need for funds based on their institution’s budget.

Grants of up to $50,000 to Canada, Israel, and International organizations and individuals to promote veganism and the reduced consumption of animal products. Funding is intended for a range of activities including advocacy, public awareness campaigns, catering programs, research, and events. Organizations that only conduct diet-change work and those that are led by and meaningfully employ women, people of color, and other marginalized persons will be prioritized.

Grants to Alberta and Ontario registered charities for community benefit programs in eligible locations. First-time applicants must establish eligibility prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended for activities and projects that improve the local quality of life. Programs should address one of the following focus areas: thriving communities, STEM and skilled trades, and sustainability. Eligible applicants are located in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, and Lacombe County, Alberta, and St. Clair River Township, and Scarborough, Ontario.

Grants of up to $5,000 to USA, Canada, and International individuals for environmental initiatives in the real estate industry. Funding is intended for academic faculty, students, real estate managers, tenants, and building owners. Preference will be given to proposals that emphasize diversity, involve young professionals, and promote real estate industry knowledge.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International graduate students, scholars, and researchers to offset the cost of travel for research. Applicants should contact the funding source to ensure the eligibility of their research project prior to applying. Funding is intended to support history research undertaken at the funding source's research library.

Grants of up to $5,000 to Alberta registered charities, municipalities, and First Nation Bands to address the needs of communities in eligible locations. Funding is intended to help organizations navigate a rapidly changing environment, whether it involves developing responsive programming, maintaining vital programming, investing in technology, or addressing unforeseen expenses. The goal of the grant program is to meet the demands of the community in the Central Alberta region. Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and individuals for projects related to sculpture. Eligible grant categories include research and development; acquisitions and collections; new projects and commissions; and conferences, lectures, and publications. Henry Moore Grants support the growth and development of sculpture across historical, modern, and contemporary registers, and funds research that expands the appreciation of sculpture.

Residency to USA, Canada, and International artists to create works related to Iceland. The six-week residency program is available to both established and emerging artists of Icelandic heritage. Eligible applicants may practice any discipline of art. The residency will take place in Markerville, Alberta.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International undergraduate students for research related to autism spectrum disorders. Studies may address any area of basic or clinical research, including neurobiology, pharmacology, and immunology. Priority will be given to studies that focus on underrepresented groups or on closing gaps in service to these groups.

Funding is available to offset the cost of workshops, conference registrations, travel, and lodging. A separate grant is available for researchers from underrepresented groups and those with disabilities.

Funding is also intended to provide massage services in places where it is not yet available. By providing massage services and therapy, grant recipients will help underserved communities achieve their health potential.

Award of $1,000 to a USA or Canada fire safety teacher to recognize leadership and community safety improvement efforts. Nominations are invited on behalf of individuals working for local fire departments and marshall's offices. In addition to the cash award for the recipient, the local fire department or the fire marshal’s office will receive a $1,000 donation to support public education activities.

Grants of up to $5,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations to provide therapeutic massages to cancer patients, survivors, and their families and caregivers. Funding is intended for patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer, their families and caregivers, and families who have lost loved ones to breast cancer.

Grants of $10,000 to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand restaurants for disaster relief. Funding is intended to support underinsured restaurants with disaster-related expenses in the wake of a government-declared natural disaster. Eligible uses of funds include operating expenses such as utilities, rent, supplies and materials, food and beverage inventory, and supplier costs.

Scholarships to USA, Canada, and International Master's or Doctoral students for studies in solid waste management. Funding is intended to provide a stipend to cover the student's expenses until graduation. During the scholarship period, students continue their projects related to solid waste issues and also work with scholars who will integrate them into industry events such as conferences and fundraisers, and facilitate visits to companies in the industry.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and eligible International cities to join a network to create sustainable cities. Applicants are required to register in the grant portal prior to submitting an application. Eligible applications can focus on one or several of the following eight fields: architecture, crafts and folk art, design, film, gastronomy, literature, media arts, and music. Awards to USA, Canada, and International students in grades 6 through 12 for short videos that demonstrate environmental or human welfare issues caused by population growth. Videos must focus on one of the following three global issues: child well-being, rainforest ecosystems, and sanitation. Entries must be digital videos, no more than 60 seconds in length. Videos must include information about how population growth impacts the issue and at least one idea for a sustainable solution.

Grants to Canada arts organizations, collectives, artists, curators, Indigenous artists and nonprofit organizations, visual arts festivals, and media arts centers for touring performances and exhibitions. Applicants must register in the portal at least 30 days prior to applying. Funding is intended to support activities promoting professional networking and artistic exchange that will enhance the visibility of Canadian artists and their works at the international level.

Grants of $3,500 to USA and Canada nonprofit organizations, government agencies, tribes, and K-12 public, private, and charter schools for new or existing gardening projects. Requests may be made for edible educational gardens that grow fruits, herbs, edible flowers, grains, and vegetables.
